Sanny Ensing

Sanny Ensing is an award-winning journalist and feature writer. She has extensive knowledge of Caribbean cultural heritage and an MA in Cultural Studies and Anthropology. She is the author of the book Caught in Time; St.Maarten Intangible Cultural Heritage financed by the Prins Bernhard Cultural Fund Caribbean. Together with photographer Noustha Koeckhoven she also co-authored the children's book Wonderwater - a poetry book illustrated by stunning underwater photographs shot in Bonaire's pristine waters . As a writer, journalist and content manager for The Daily Herald supplements her articles and columns have appeared throughout the Caribbean. She won the No Anansi Story award for Best Caribbean-based feature (The flavours of Grenada) by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) during the Caribbean Week New York Media Awards. She worked as online associate editor for Ralston Holding's Destination St. Maarten/St. Maarten and as editor for SuperYacht Industry and ShipBuilding Industry at Yellow & Finch Publishers in The Netherlands . Today she runs her own business, freelancing as a writer, translator and editor for various clients. Besides ongoing research into Caribbean heritage, and in the process of writing her own novel, Sanny just started the Deadline Bureau, an order-your-very-own-deadline service with co-writer Marloes Matthijssen.
